The news of the great fires in the State of Victoria, Australia that resulted in many victims and enormous damage, instils in us a feeling of sadness and heartache, especially because we know that there are thousands of our emigrant Maltese and Gozitan brethren in Victoria.
In solidarity with those who have suffered losses due to these fires, particularly with our brethren in Victoria, and with love for their families and their relatives here in our country weighed down by concern for their dear ones far away, I appeal for prayers to be said for them to God, through the intercession of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu, in the churches of the diocese, in Christian prayer and cathechesis groups, and in family gatherings.
