VOTIVE LAMP
Gift of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI on the occasion of his Apostolic Voyage to Malta to the Sanctuary of Saint Paul in Rabat (17 April 2010)
A hanging lamp in silver 925/°° engraved by hand, with 8 fused bas-reliefs portraying scenes and inscriptions of the life of the Apostle Paul. The work is around 90 cm high and weighs 3.3 grams; it is a piece specially commissioned by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, under the artistic direction of Msgr. Alfred Xuereb. Realised in Rome by Master goldsmiths Claudio and Pietro Savio.

Lampada sospesa in argento 925/°°, cesellata a mano, con 8 bassorilievi fusi raffiguranti scene ed iscrizioni della vita dell’Apostolo Paolo. L’opera è alta circa cm. 90 e pesa grammi 3.300, è un pezzo unico, ideato e realizzato a mano per disposizione di Sua Santità Benedetto XVI, sotto la direzione artistica di Mons. Alfred Xuereb. Eseguita a Roma dai Maestri orafi Claudio e Piero Savio.
