The Sisters of Charity of St Jeanne Antide came to Malta in 1868 and in that same year, the running of the Government Orphanage at Valletta was entrusted to their care; soon after also the Bishop’s Conservatory in Gozo. Later the they were called by the Government to give their service in the state hospitals at Gozo.

Our Charism is:

saintvincentdepaul.jpg
To love Christ Jesus,
to love and serve the Poor
who are his members,
to show them the love of the Father,
This is the ‘Charism and mission’ which
St Vincent De Paul and Saint Jeanne Antide
received from God. (R.f.L 1.1.1.)

Our charity must be universal,
but our mission set us apart
by a special vow for the service of the poor. (R.d.L 1.1.2)
